Composer, Guitarist, Engraver, Copyist Noah Luna began his compositional training at De Anza College in Cupertino, CA in 2003 with Dr. Paul Setziol. Upon transferring to California State University, East Bay in Hayward, CA, Luna began study with Dr. Frank LaRocca. His first composition in the East Bay: "Prayer for Divine Help" was performed by the Mount Eden High School Men's Chorus througout the United States on their various tours. The San Francisco Bay Area Chamber Choir also commissioned a piece from Noah Luna: "The Presence of Love" which was subsequently performed in their Summer Tour of France, culminating in a performance at the American Church of Paris. Luna also studied with Dr. Rafael Hernandez and Dr. Jeffrey Miller at CSUEB and earned his BA in March '07. Luna has won several awards for his compositions. Most recently, he was the first winner of the Annual International Composition Competition sponsored by AREON Flutes. This flute quartet: "Entia" has been performed throughout the Bay Area by such distinguished ensembles as the AREON Flute Quartet, and the Stanford Unversity Flute Ensemble. He was recently accepted into the San Francisco Conservatory of Music as a Masters Candidate in Conrad Susa's Composition studio and is currently working on several exciting works. In addition to writing music, Luna enjoys teaching music theory for young students preparing for their ABRSM or CM theory exams, teaching private guitar lessons, as well as guest lecturing at several summer institutes for young musicians.
